My koala drawing was inspired by a surreal experience observing a tiny koala bonding with its mother.
Upon reflection, I recognised that the mother’s care and the connection that the pair shared was quite representative of my own mothering experience. As well as a tender side, there is a fierce commitment to nurturing and protecting them until they can be resourceful enough to look after themselves.
